Merger of Interest Groups for the ALAIC 2022 Congress
For the ALAIC 2022 Congress, to be held in the city of Buenos Aires from September 26-30, a large number of proposals were received for the realization of interest groups, which implied the merger of several of them to build synergies in relevant fields of communication.

For the ALAIC 2022 Congress, to be held in the city of Buenos Aires from September 26-30, a large number of proposals were received for the realization of interest groups, which implied the merger of several of them to build synergies in relevant fields of communication.
Interest Groups (IG) are formed around emerging or relevant issues at each Congress and do not overlap with the permanent Thematic Groups (TG). Its operation is similar to that of the WGs, with presentation of papers and collective debate.
For this year, 23 proposals were received, which were merged into 11 Interest Groups. This is a very interesting offer that incorporates groups oriented to media issues from the language of film, radio and sound media, through transmedia to work with images, all with innovative approaches. Some groups focus on approaches to the field from decolonial, ethnic, and gender perspectives in a range of expressions of diversity, and others on dialogues with crucial issues of our time such as changes in the world of work, platform governance, public management, and international communication.
It is worth highlighting the commitment to collaborative work that ALAIC proposes for this Congress 2022, as evidenced by the exercise of merging groups, which expands the possibility of participation. To learn more about the Interest Groups proposed in this new version of ALAIC Congress
